Connor Callahan Making Season Debut at Bruin Diving Invitational

BERKELEY – Connor Callahan will make his season debut and represent the California men's diving squad at the three-day Bruin Diving Invitational, hosted by UCLA in Los Angeles on Jan. 17-19.
 
A senior, Callahan will be Cal's lone male diver participating in the invitational meet. He will compete in the 3-meter and 1-meter events on Friday and Sunday, respectively. For live results and a full list of participating divers, visit DiveMeets.com.
 
Callahan's last collegiate competition was the 2019 NCAA Championships, where he placed 18th in the 1-meter with a score of 303.95, 29th in the platform (284.05) and 36th in the 3-meter (296.65). Callahan owns the Cal school record in the 1-meter (379.28), which he set in a home dual meet against Pacific on Oct. 3, 2018.
 
Preliminaries for both the 3-meter and 1-meter dives will be held at 10:30 a.m. (PT) on Friday and Sunday. The top 18 scores will advance to the finals, held 15 minutes after the conclusion of preliminaries.
 
NEXT TIME
The Bears will host Arizona and Arizona State in a pair of Pac-12 dual meets on Jan. 24 and Jan. 25 at Spieker Aquatics Complex. Friday's competition begins at 2 p.m. (PT) and Saturday's competition starts at noon (PT).
