CAL BACK IN ACTION FRIDAY AT SAN DIEGO STATE

— Cal continues its current five-game road trip at San Diego State this Friday (5 pm PT) in the first-ever meeting between the teams
— Cal and San Diego State have played eight times in school history all over the last eight seasons with the Aztecs leading the all-time series, 5-3
— San Diego State has won both of the games played in San Diego previously with a 14-13 overtime win the last time the teams played in San Diego on March 26, 2018, as well as an 18-9 decision in the first-ever meeting between the schools on March 10, 2012
— Friday's game will honor honor the "One Love Foundation" created to honor Virginia women's lacrosse student-athlete Yeardley Love, who was killed by a former boyfriend in 2010  

BEARS START CURRENT FIVE-GAME ROAD TRIP STRONG WITH PAIR OF WINS

— Cal knocked off Mercer and Winthrop last Friday and Sunday, respectively, to begin its current season-long five-game road trip with a pair of victories 
— After playing at San Diego State this Friday, the Golden Bears will wrap up their current five-game road trip with their first Pac-12 action of the season the following week at Arizona State (Friday, March 6, 1 pm PT/Noon PT) and No. 11/10 USC (Sunday, March 8, Noon PT) to wrap up the trip

WILD WINS OVER MERCER AND WINTHROP

— Cal picked up its first two wins of the season in wild and somewhat similar fashion at Mercer (11-10) and Winthrop (11-7)
— Cal scored the first five goals of the game including three in just over the opening five minutes at Mercer and the first three at Winthrop
— Although the Golden Bears never trailed in either contest they did have to hold off a pair of comeback attempts, needing a forced turnover on Mercer's final possession with 0:21 to go and withsta four goals in the final 20 minutes from Mia Creighton to hold on against Winthrop

— Cal is looking Friday for its first three-game win streak since April 1-13, 2018  
Nikki Zaccaro leads the Golden Bears with 12 points on seven goals and a team-high five assists
Quinnlyn Mason has a team-high eight goals and is second with nine points
