FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – California men's swimming and diving tied an 11-year-old meet record in the 200-yard freestyle relay and swept the 200-yard individual medley and 50-yard freestyle events in a dominant second day of the Pac-12 Conference Championships at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center on Thursday.

After entering the day in last place, the Bears found themselves in second by the end of the night with 278 points, just 5.5 behind Stanford (283.5) for the top spot.

The night ended with a bang as Pawel Sendyk, Ryan Hoffer, Michael Jensen and Zheng Wen Quah tied a Pac-12 Championships record (1:15.54) in the 200 free relay. It proved to be the nation's fastest time this season and extended Cal's streak of winning the event to four years, dating back to 2017. Sendyk led off with a 19.00 while Hoffer (18.43) and Jensen (18.87) handled the second and third legs. Quah anchored the win with a 19.24.

Cal earned its first podium sweep in the 200 IM as Daniel Carr won the race with the nation's second-fastest time (1:41.79) and was followed by Quah (1:42.93) and Bryce Mefford (1:43.57). A late surge by Carr pushed him past Quah for his first individual Pac-12 Championship gold. In the 200 IM B-Final, Cal received another victory from freshman Jason Louser, who posted the fifth fastest time of the night in 1:43.69.

The second podium sweep came in the 50 free when Hoffer (18.87) edged out Sendyk (18.91) for the victory while Jensen claimed bronze in 19.38. Hoffer and Sendyk's finishes are the top two times in the nation this season.

In the first finals event of the night, Trenton Julian earned silver in the 500 free with a runner-up finish of 4:12.77. Julian's mark was the 13th fastest time in the country this season; he was followed by Sean Grieshop (fifth, 4:14.57) and Calvin David (eighth, 4:22.05) as they combined for 42 points.
