COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – California track & field wrapped up regular season indoor action with top five finishes at the Championships at the Peak on the base of the U.S. Air Force Academy Saturday. 

Deshae Wise started the day by taking third-place in the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.31 seconds, her third top three finish in the event in as many tries during the indoor season. Wise set the school record in the event at the Air Force Open last week with a time of 8.28 seconds. 

It was another good day for the Bears in the sprints as Ezinne Abba clocked 7.40 seconds on the women's side to post her third straight top five finish of the season and Christian Catlin crossed the line in 6.83 seconds to take seventh-place. 

Busola Akinduro returned after missing last week with an injury in the women's triple jump, posting a top leap of 12.73 meters (41-9.25), just short of her all-time best she set on Jan. 22 at the Air Force Invitational to begin the season. 

In the throws, Jeff Duensing followed his strong debut in the Blue and Gold a week ago with an even better performance in the men's shot put. Duensing put up a top mark of 17.68 meters (58-0.25), more than two feet farther than last week at the Air Force Open. He finished fourth against a field that included Turner Washington of ASU and Jordan Geist of Arizona, two of the top 10 in the country in the event.  

Attention now turns to the NCAA Indoor Championships for Camryn Rogers after she set the Canadian U-23 record Friday with her mark of 21.78 meters (71-5.5). Rogers is set to enter a tough competition at nationals with the ninth-best mark in the country as action gets underway March 12-13 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
