Bears Drop Home Contest To Buffs

Three Players Finished In Double-Figures For Cal

BERKELEY - The California women's basketball team closed out the game on an 11-2 run, but ultimately fell to Colorado, 67-52, Sunday afternoon at Haas Pavilion.

Sophomore guard Leilani McIntosh led the Bears in scoring with 13 points, five assists and four steals. It was McIntosh's fourth game this season leading the pack in points scored. McIntosh went 3-for-4 from the field in the second half after shooting 3-for-7 in the first half.

"In the first half, I was kind of rushing a lot of things and wasn't seeing the right looks," McIntosh said. "But I was able to talk to Cailyn Crocker at halftime, and she was just telling me that she had confidence in me and that I have the capability to make the right plays."

Freshman forward Ugonne (Michelle) Onyiah finished with 12 points, three rebounds and a career-high four blocks. This is her fourth consecutive game scoring in double figures. Freshman guard Dalayah Daniels finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and a career-high three blocks. As a team, the Bears combined for 10 blocks, their most since Jan. 13, 2017 at Colorado.

Junior guard Sierra Richey finished with three points on 2-of-4 from three, tying her career high for three-pointers made in a game.

The Buffs (7-9, 5-8 Pac-12) were led by freshman guard Frida Formann, who scored 25.

Next up, the Bears (0-13, 0-10 Pac-12) head to Oregon for their final regular season road trip next week, taking on No. 12 Oregon Friday, Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. and Oregon State Sunday, Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on Pac-12 Network. Fans can receive additional in-game updates and behind-the-scenes information by following the Bears' social media accounts (Twitter: @CalWBBall, Instagram: @CalWBBall and Facebook: Facebook.com/CalWBBall).
