BERKELEY – The California men's soccer team opens a 17-game schedule in the fall of 2021 at Saint Mary's and at UC Santa Barbara before playing its home opener on Sept. 3 vs. Dixie State, the Pac-12 Conference announced Tuesday. Nine of Cal's regular-season games will air on the Pac-12 Networks.

"It looks to be another excellent schedule of games for the fall season," Cal head coach Kevin Grimes said. "Coming off an incredible finish to the spring segment, we are looking forward to carrying that momentum into the 2021 fall campaign."
 
The Golden Bears – who played their spring 2021 regular-season home matches at Witter Rugby Field – will host nine regular-season home games on Goldman Field at Edwards Stadium this fall. Prior to the season, they will host two exhibition games – vs. Sacramento State on Aug. 13 and vs. San Francisco on Aug. 20 – and travel to San Jose State for an exhibition clash on Aug. 15.
 
Cal's schedule features five nonconference regular-season games before the Bears start the conference season at San Diego State on Sept. 16 and at UCLA on Sept. 19. Cal makes its season TV debut in that game against the Bruins, with Pac-12 Bay Area and Pac-12 Los Angeles airing the match. The Bears will close the regular season on Pac-12 Bay Area on Nov. 11, when they host Stanford in the Big Clasico.
 
Grimes – who completed his 21st season as Cal's head coach in the spring – led a spring 2021 squad that included Alonzo Del Mundo, a United Soccer Coaches All-Far West second-team forward and an All-Pac-12 honorable mention; Christopher Grey, an All-Pac-12 first-team defender; Francisco Perez, an All-Pac-12 second-team midfielder; and All-Pac-12 honorable mention defenders JJ Foe Nuphaus and Ian Lonergan.
