Twenty-Two Bears Earn America East Academic Accolades

The Bears Were One Honoree Shy Of A Program Record

BERKELEY – Twenty-two California field hockey student-athletes boasted America East Honor Roll honors for their outstanding academic achievement, the league recently announced. The Golden Bears were one student-athlete shy of their program record.
 
Sixteen of Cal's 22 student-athletes – Monica Arteaga, Kiki de Bruijne, Sara Deck, Abbey Frame, Claire Hind, Makaela Hoang, Sabine Hommes, Annabelle Johnson, Cato Knipping, Yvie Lock, Natalie Moore, Jane Onners, Ryan Poe, Sara Stone, Hanna Winn and Brynn Zorilla – earned placement on the esteemed America East Commissioner's Honor Roll, which recognizes members for achieving a 3.5 grade point average or higher. 

Of those 16, Arteaga, de Bruijne, Deck, Hind, Hoang, Johnson, Knipping, Lock, Moore, Stone and Zorilla secured 4.0 GPAs. 
 
Maggie Blundi, Maddie Cleat, Megan Connors, Marley Meyer, Elizabeth Philipp and Kaiden Stanley garnered placement on the Honor Roll, rewarding student-athletes for maintaining 3.0+ GPAs.
 
Deck and Lock achieved the academic honor for the fourth time, while Blundi, Cleat, Poe and Zorilla earned the honor for the third year in a row.
