Starting Left Tackle Helps Offense Score Seven Touchdowns And 49 Points While Rushing For 354 Yards

BERKELEY – Ben Coleman was named the Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week on Monday for his performance in helping Cal's offense score seven touchdowns and 49 points while rushing for 354 yards including rushing totals of 274 yards and three touchdowns by Pac-12 Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week Jaydn Ott in a 49-31 win over Arizona on Saturday at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Coleman won the honor for the second time in his career after having been previously selected for his performance in a 41-11 win at Stanford on Nov. 20, 2021.

— Played all 70 snaps at left tackle against Arizona and was the only Cal offensive lineman to start at the same position as the previous contest at Notre Dame

— Ott's three touchdowns against Arizona are tied for the most by a Pac-12 player in a game this season both rushing and overall and the most rushing touchdowns at Cal since Patrick Laird had three against Weber State in 2017, while Ott is only the third Cal player with three or more rushing touchdowns in a game for Cal since the beginning of the 2011 season (Daniel Lasco also had three vs. Oregon State in 2014)
— Ott had touchdown runs of 73 and 72 yards against Arizona to become the first Pac-12 player with two runs of 70 or more yards in a game since Colorado's Jarek Broussard against Arizona on December 5, 2020, and the first Cal player since Jahvid Best at Washington State on Sept. 6, 2008
— Ott's 73-yard touchdown run was Cal's longest rush since Marcel Dancy had a 76-yard touchdown run at Stanford on Nov. 20, 2021 and the longest by a Cal freshman since Khalfani Muhammad also had a 73-yard touchdown run against Washington on Oct. 26, 2013
