BERKELEY – The California women's basketball team (10-4) continues Pac-12 play at home taking on the No. 2 Stanford Cardinal on Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. and the game can be viewed on the Pac-12 Network.

This game marks the 99th all-time meeting between the programs with Stanford holding a 77-21 series lead. The last win against the Cardinal came on Jan. 31, 2019 in a 81-80 victory at Haas Pavilion.
 
GAME INFORMATION QUICK HITS
  • In the 74-61 win over Arizona State:
    • For the third time this season, five Bears scored in double-figures led by Michelle Onyiah who tied her career-high with 16 points and added 11 rebounds for her second double-double this season and sixth of her career.
    • Claudia Langarita provided a big boost off the bench with a season-high 15 points on an impressive 7-of-8 shooting.
    • Leilani McIntosh dished out a season-high eight assists, just two shy of her career-high while scoring 11 points.
    • The Bears gave up just eight points in the fourth quarter which was the lowest quarter total Cal has held a Pac-12 opponent to since it limited Washington State to just seven points in the fourth quarter during a game on March 7, 2019.  
    • The Cal bench scored 35 points, the second highest total of the season and the most since it scored 38 in the season opener against CSUN on Nov. 7.
  • Against Top 10 opponents:
    • Against then No. 9 Notre Dame on Nov. 12, Cal scored the most 3-pointers (9) and points (79), had the most assists (17) and steals (12 - only opponent to register double-digit steals) against Notre Dame among any of its opponents this season. Opponents include No. 5 UConn, No. 9 Virginia Tech and No. 13 Maryland.
    • Against No. 2 Stanford on Dec. 23, Cal shot 43.9 percent from deep, the highest percentage allowed by Stanford, held Stanford to just 29.2 percent from 3-point range, its fourth lowest percentage of the season and the 69 points the Bears put up were the third highest total allowed by the Cardinal all season.
  • Team national rankings: 48h assist/turnover ratio (1.11), 48th FG% (44.7), 59th rebounding margin (+ 6.4), 65th scoring offense (74.0), 70th blocks per game (4.0). 73rd assists per game (15.4)
  • Cal is averaging 74.0 points per game (67th in the country), the highest average in program history since the 1999-00 season.
  • This season, the Bears have done a great job distributing the ball, while keeping turnovers low. Nationally they rank 48th in asst/to ratio (1.11)  and 48th in fewest turnovers per game (13.9).
  • With two 3-pointers against Arizona State, Curry kept her streak of consecutive regular season games with at least one 3-pointer going at 36 games. Her streak is the longest among all active Pac-12 players and is the third longest streak of any Pac-12 player since the 1999-00 season.

  • Curry ranks second among all sophomores in the Pac-12 in scoring (15.3) and 20th nationally. She averaged 17.7 points per game for the month of December, 5th in the Pac-12.
  • Lutje Schipholt has been a steady rock for the team so far leading the team in rebounding at 6.0 boards per game and ranking third in scoring at 10.0 points per game, which is a career-high and the first season she is averaging double-digit scoring. 43 of her 84 rebounds this season have come on the offensive end which ranks 5th in the Pac-12 and 65th nationally. Her 51.2 offensive rebounding percentage ranks 1st in the Pac-12 among the top 20 rebounders.
  • McIntosh has greatly improved three-point accuracy, continuing her year-over-year improvement. She is currently shooting a career-high 48.6 percent from distance, which leads the Pac-12, a significant improvement from last season's 36.2 percent. She is the only player in the Pac-12 shooting at least 50 percent from the field and 48 percent from deep.
  • Martín has been one of the Bears' most consistent players from 3-point range this season shooting at a 39.4 percent rate, ranked 11th in the Pac-12. She has hit at least two 3-pointers in 8 of 14 games and 6 out of the last 10. She is shooting 41 percent from deep over her last seven games.
  • Off The Bench: Both Michelle Onyiah and Jadyn Bush have been key contributors off the bench this season. Onyiah is averaging 11 points and seven rebounds over her last five games. In just 8.1 minutes per game, Bush is averaging 5.9 points and 3.2 rebounds.
  • Cal has two players in the top 15 of the Pac-12 in 3-point makes: Curry (5th) - 31, Martín (6th) - 28 and 3-point percentage: McIntosh (1st) - 48.6, Martín (11th) - 39.4. Martín's percentage ranks 67th nationally among qualified players. The duo of Curry and Martín ranks third in the Pac-12 for 3-point makes.
  • Cal's offense is coming from multiple sources this season with four Bears averaging double-figure scoring: Curry - 15.3, Martín - 10.8, Lutje Schipholt - 10.0, McIntosh - 10.0. Last season only Curry averaged double-figures.
  • Peanut Tuitele has been instrumental in helping the Bears control the glass this season, ranking second on the team in rebounding at 5.7 boards per game and has had 23 offensive rebounds so far which ranks in the top 35 in the Pac-12, while having missed two games. She had grabbed at least seven rebounds in three of the past four games played.
  • The Bears' bench has been a solid contributing factor this season accounting for 31.2 percent of the team's scoring to date. Cal's bench has outscored its opponents in all but three games this season.
