CARY, N.C. – California women's tennis junior Jessica Alsola won her singles main draw opening match in three sets to advance to Thursday's second round at the ITA All-American Championships at Cary Tennis Park.
 
The 47th-ranked Alsola defeated Michigan's 80th-ranked Lily Jones, 5-7, 6-0, 6-3.
 
Alsola next plays Stanford's 14th-ranked Angelica Blake in the second round on Thursday at 11 a.m. ET/8 a.m. PT.
