The California football team's Jaydn Ott and Cade Uluave continued to pile up honors on Saturday when Ott was named to Super West Sports' first-team and Cade Uluave was selected as the media outlet's Defensive Freshman of the Year. The Super West Sports' squads include players from the Pac-12 and Mountain West Conferences, as well as BYU.

Ott has previously been a first-team All-Pac-12 selection of the league's coaches, as well as the Associated Press, College Football Network and College Football News, and he is also one of 10 national finalists for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award.

Uluave was also the Pac-12's Defensive Freshman of the Year, while The Athletic and College Football Network bestowed him with first-team Freshman All-American recognition.

– Has played in all 12 games including the first five starts of his career in Cal's most recent five contests
– Has contributed 58 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss (-42 yards), 2.5 sacks (-26 yards), two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries that he has returned for 51 yards and one of the team's three fumble returns for a touchdown, two interceptions that he has returned for four yards and three pass breakups
– Tied for the team lead in tackles for loss, fumble recoveries and interceptions
– Has recorded all of his stats other than participation over the last seven games
– Tied for second in the Pac-12 and tied for 17th nationally in fumbles recovered (tied for first both in the Pac-12 and nationally among freshmen)
– Leads Pac-12 freshmen in tackles and tackles per game
