Cade Uluave and
Jack Endries of the California football team were recognized Monday with Freshman All-American honors from College Football News. Uluave earned a spot on the Freshman All-American team at a "FLEX" position, while Endries was an honorable mention selection as a tight end.

Cade Uluave, ILB, 6-1, 230, Fr., 1st Season At Cal (South Jordan, UT/Mountain Ridge HS)
– Freshman All-American at the "FLEX" position according to College Football News
– Pac-12 Freshman Defensive Player of the Year candidate
– Has earned three Pac-12 Player of the Week honors, capturing the league's defensive honor after performances against Washington State and at UCLA, while he was also named the league's top freshman for his work against the Cougars
– Has played in all 12 games including the first five starts of his career in Cal's most recent five contests
– Has contributed 58 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss (-42 yards), 2.5 sacks (-26 yards), two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries that he has returned for 51 yards and one of the team's three fumble returns for a touchdown, two interceptions that he has returned for four yards and three pass breakups
– Tied for the team lead in tackles for loss, fumble recoveries and interceptions
– Has recorded all of his stats other than participation over the last seven games
– Tied for second in the Pac-12 and tied for 17th nationally in fumbles recovered (tied for first both in the Pac-12 and nationally among freshmen)

– Cal's nominee for the Burlsworth Trophy given annually to the most outstanding Football Bowl Subdivision player who began his FBS career as a walk-on
– One of Cal's four offensive players and only non-offensive lineman, as well as one of only eight overall, to start each of the first 12 games
– Has contributed 32 receptions for 385 yards receiving with two touchdown catches, as well as one successful two-point conversion on a pass from

– Has at least one catch in 11 of his 12 games and each of his past 10 contests
