BERKELEY – With six school records and 28 additional program top 10 marks under its belt so far this season, the California track & field team travels to Seattle this week for the aptly-named Ken Shannon Last Chance Invitational. The Golden Bears plan to send their top athletes north to the last indoor regular-season meet, hoping to qualify individuals for the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships in March.

The first events on Thursday will begin with the women's pole vault and heptathlon 60m dash at noon PT, while Friday will commence at 10 a.m. with the women's high jump and women's shot put.

This will be the first meet of the season composed almost entirely of Pac-12 programs, in lieu of a conference indoor meet.

"I'm excited to see how we stack up against the other Pac-12 schools," Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Robyne Johnson said. "This is a great opportunity for us to record some incredible marks and, for some, clinch a spot in the NCAA Indoor Championships."

Cal recorded eight podium finishes and a school record, the latter courtesy of senior Camryn Rogers in the weight throw, at the Pac-12 Invitational last year. Rogers will compete again this weekend, in addition to school record-holders David Foster (60m), Gavin Schurr (200m), Aysha Shaheed (200m), Jada Hicks (60m hurdles) and Toby Lai (high jump). Senior Henry Larkin, who ran the anchor leg of Cal's record-setting 4x400m relay squad, will be competing in the men's 400m dash.
