BERKELEY – Four-time honorees Monica Arteaga and Cato Knipping were among the 18 California field hockey players named to the 2022 NFHCA Academic squad, as announced by the NFHCA on Thursday morning.

The NFHCA National Academic Squad program, sponsored by OPA Winning Teams, honors collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher through the first semester of the current academic year, and were nominated by their NFHCA member coach.

Joining Arteaga and Knipping, along with 965 other student-athletes from across the country are: Kiki de Bruijne, Megan Connors, Elana Eisenberg, May Flanders, Claire Hind, Sabine Hommes, Annabelle Johnson, Morgan Kallmann, Mia Katsuyoshi, Marley Meyer, Natalie Moore, Olivia Sharratt, Kaiden Stanley, Sara Stone, Hanna Winn, and Madeline Zacchini.

Arteaga and Knipping are two of 179 student-athletes who have appeared on the award list for four years. 

De Bruijne, Hind, Hommes, Johnson, Stone, and Winn have all earned the honors three times. Conors, Eisenberg, Meyer, and Moore have all earned the recognition for the second straight season.
