BERKELEY – The California softball team returns home for a three-game Pac-12 series against Arizona State this weekend at Levine-Fricke Field.
 
First pitch between the Golden Bears and Sun Devils is set for 3 p.m. on Friday with both Saturday and Sunday scheduled for 2 p.m. starts.

HOW TO FOLLOW SERIES AT A GLANCE
  • Cal leads the all-time series 70-65, but ASU has won 19 of the last 23 games.
  • No. 14 Arizona State swept the three-game series last season in Tempe. Cal's last victory against ASU came in 2019 and its last series win was in 2012.

  • The Bears check in at No. 29 in this week's NCAA RPI ratings after reaching No. 20 last week, its highest standing since the 2018 season.
  • Cal took down No. 2 UCLA on March 11 in an 8-0 run-rule victory in five innings for its first win over a top-5 team since the 2012 season, when the Bears swept No. 3 Washington in three games March 30-April 2 in Berkeley.

  • Haylei Archer's 1.91 ERA ranks sixth in the conference.
  • Tatum Anzaldo has been on a tear since returning to the lineup on March 3 against Miami (Ohio), going 15-for-38 (.395).
  • Zobac (.384), Mika Lee (.375), D'Asha Saiki (.345) and Smith (.329) are all above .300 to lead the Bears offensively.  
  • Anzaldo (.382), a 2022 first-team all-conference selection hasn't had enough plate appearances to qualify for official stats after missing 10 games earlier this season.
