SAN FRANCISCO – The California men's golf team shot a 3-over par 283 for the second time in as many days and is in sole possession of ninth place after 36 holes played at The Goodwin. Junior Aaron Du's 1-under 69 highlighted the Golden Bears' second round, but the team dropped back two spots on the leaderboard after entering the day in seventh.
 
Du, who birdied holes 4 and 9 and played cleanly throughout the back nine, jumped 21 spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 38th on Friday. Daniel Heo and Sampson Zheng, who shot 71 and 73, respectively in round two, are tied for 48th.
 
With 18 holes to play, Cal is three strokes behind eighth-place Washington and eight strokes outside of the top five. No. 11 Georgia Tech – one of five teams ranked among the top-35 nationally ahead of the Bears on the leaderboard – is atop the field at 13-under while No. 13 Oklahoma is one stroke behind at 12-under.
