Cal Women’s Soccer Earns Team Academic Award
Bears Recognized For Success In Classroom
The California women's soccer team earned a 2022-23 College Team Academic Award, as announced by United Soccer Coaches on Wednesday.
During the last academic year, the Golden Bears posted a 3.31 team GPA to become one of 801 (494 women, 307 men) teams to earn the honor across all levels of the sport. The award is given to collegiate teams that accomplished a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. With the men's soccer team also getting the award, Cal stands as one of 179 schools that had both programs recognized.
In the fall of 2022, the Bears placed 13 student-athletes on the Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll and six on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team. Additionally, former keeper
Angelina Anderson, who was drafted into the NWSL in January, was named a CSC Third Team Academic All-American.
