BELGRADE, Serbia – The California women's rowing team, represented by senior Antonia Galland and associate head coach Adrienne Martelli, wrapped up competition at the World Rowing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia this week. The event took place Sept. 3–10 and included what is considered to be the strongest field since the 2020 Olympics.

Martelli was part of the United States coaching staff that led the women's four and eight. Her efforts resulted in the women's eight earning a silver medal with a finishing time of 06:03.73, just two seconds behind Romania. The women's four finished in fourth place in 06:47.39, just three seconds from making the podium.

Galland rowed for Germany in the women's eight, which faced off against China in the B Final. Germany finished one second behind for eighth place in a time of 06:20.83. Earlier this summer, Galland won a silver medal for her country in the women's eight at the 2023 U23 World Rowing Championships in Plovidiv, Bulgaria.
