BERKELEY – California field hockey graduate transfer Daniella Rhodes was named the America East Offensive Player of the Week by the conference on Tuesday.

Rhodes, a transfer from Liberty, earned her sixth career weekly conference honor, and her first as a Golden Bear. She was sensational as Cal went 2-0 last week, scoring 10 points off five goals in addition to leading the Bears' potent attack with nine shots –  eight on goal – for a .889 shots-on-goal percentage.

In the 2-1 win over LIU to begin the week, she scored the opening goal in the 11th minute, helping the Bears seize momentum. Rhodes followed the effort with a career day against Stonehill, scoring four goals including three in the first half as the Bears scored a season-high nine goals in the lopsided win over the Skyhawks. Her four goals marks the fourth time in her career that she's scored three-plus goals, and she became the first Bear to score three or more goals since Rachel Buttinger scored three against Bryant last season.

Rhodes' six goals are tied for the America East lead. She's tied for second-most goals among all active players in the NCAA with 62.

Cal returns to action on Friday, Sept. 22 when it returns to New York to take on UAlbany in an America East contest. That game is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. PT.
