BERKELEY – Brian Driscoll was named the Pac-12 Offensive Lineman of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in Cal's 58-21 season-opening win at North Texas on Saturday. Driscoll won the honor for the first time in his career and is the first Golden Bear to be named a Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week since Ben Coleman in Week 4 of the 2022 campaign.

Cal (1-0) will host perennial national and SEC power Auburn (1-0) in its home opener Saturday when the Tigers visit Berkeley for the first-ever meeting between the teams. The Gold Out contest will be televised live by ESPN and kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT under the lights at California Memorial Stadium, which is celebrating 100 years in 2023.

– Started at left guard before moving to center after starter Matthew Cindric left the game with an injury and played 83 snaps
– Cal's highest-graded offensive lineman for a unit that did not allow a sack
– Helped Cal score 58 points for its most in a game since a 73-14 win over Grambling State to open the 2015 campaign, while its 669 yards of total offense were its most ever in a road contest, the fifth most in school history, and most in a game since Cal registered 680 total yards in a 48-46 home victory over Arizona State in 2015
– Cal finished with 347 yards rushing and 322 yards passing to mark only the second time in school history the Golden Bears have had at least 322 yards both rushing and passing
– After Week 1 games, Cal is fourth in the nation in total offense (669.0 ypg), fifth in rushing offense (347.0 ypg) and eighth in scoring offense (58.0 ppg)
