BERKELEY – The California women's basketball program has announced an additional round of nonconference games for the 2023-24 season, highlighted by matchups against perennially ranked Gonzaga, SEC-based Texas A&M and a trip to Florida for the West Palm Beach Classic. Exact times and additional games to the nonconference schedule will be announced at a later date.
 
The Golden Bears will play an exhibition game against Westmont on Nov. 2 at Haas Pavilion and then officially open the season against Cal State Bakersfield on Nov. 6, part of a doubleheader with Cal men's team, which plays St. Thomas that same day.
 
Cal then welcomes Cal Poly on Nov. 13 before heading on the road for its first of two trips east, where it will take on Auburn on Nov. 17 before facing Florida A&M on Nov. 20 as part of the Pac-12/SWAC Legacy Series - a joint initiative between the two conferences that began last season aimed at promoting and providing education around race and social justice issues.
 
The Bears return home to host their third-annual Raising The B.A.R. (Basketball, Activism, Representation) Invitational Nov. 24 and 25, which will include Texas A&M, San Jose State and Winthrop University. The annual tournament was created by Cal head coach Charmin Smith to elevate the voices, stories and people in the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Justice space, and features teams led by Black female head coaches.
 
Cal will then extend its homestand with four straight games at Haas Pavilion beginning with a matchup against St. Mary's on Dec. 2 and followed by games against Gonzaga (Dec. 7), Nevada (Dec. 9) and Eastern Washington (Dec. 15).
 
Finally, the Bears will head to Florida for a second time to participate in the West Palm Beach Classic Dec. 20-21. The tournament field includes Arkansas with additional opponents yet to be announced.
 
Cal's full Pac-12 slate as well as tipoff times and television/streaming designations for all nonconference contests will be announced at later dates.
