BERKELEY – The California women's basketball team will conclude its trip to the desert taking Arizona State on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe.

This game marks the 83rd all-time meeting between the programs with series tied at 41-41, which dates back to the 1978-79 season. The Bears (13-7, 3-5 Pac-12) have won four in row and five of the last six against the Sun Devils including a sweep of both head-to-head matchups last season.

Arizona State (9-11, 1-7) is led by second-year head coach Natasha Adair. The Sun Devils return seven players from last year's team and feature seven newcomers highlighted by Jalyn Brown who entered this weekend second in the Pac-12 in scoring (23.0 ppg) in conference games.

In the most recent matchup on Feb. 10, 2023, Cal used a strong defensive effort in the third quarter to put Arizona State away in a 72-61 victory. Cal was able to take control of the game in the third quarter by going on a 7-0 run over the last two minutes while holding Arizona State to just three points and one made field goal to take a 15-point lead into the final quarter. Cal was able to maintain control of the game in the fourth, never letting the lead go below nine points to cruise to the victory.

Sunday's game will air on Pac-12 Arizona with Cindy Brunson and Joan Bonvicini on the call.
