Cal Set To Host Austin Peay
Bears Look To Extend Four-Game Win Streak
Fresh off a dominating win over cross-town rival Stanford on Friday night, the California women's basketball team (10-1, 1-0 ACC) will look for its second five-game win streak of the season when it hosts Austin Peay (3-5) at Haas Pavilion on Sunday at 2 p.m. PT.
This game marks just the second overall meeting between the two programs with Cal taking the sole matchup, 67-58, on Nov. 13, 2015.
A win on Sunday would get the Bears one step closer to matching their 13-1 start during the 2016-17 season – their best start since this season.
Austin Peay is led by fourth-year head coach Brittany Young who became the first head coach in program history to lead the Governors to back-to-back ASUN conference tournament semifinal appearances in her first two seasons and the conference tournament semifinals last season. The Govs are highlighted by La'Nya Foster, the ASUN's reigning Freshman of the Year.
Sunday's game will be streamed on ACCNX with Dave Benz and Theo Robertson on the call.
