BERKELEY – The California women's lacrosse team had its three-game win streak snapped Saturday when the Golden Bears dropped their first Pac-12 home game of the season to No. 20 Colorado, 15-7. Cal (4-6, 1-1 Pac-12) started and finished the game strong with the first two goals of the contest and all three in the fourth quarter but the Buffaloes dominated in between the two Cal stretches with 15 of the game's other 17 goals.

Addie Fischer and Kennedy Goss scored the game's first two goals to give the Bears a 2-0 lead less than five minutes into the opening period with Courtney Wong assisting on Fischer's tally.

But Colorado would score the contest's next 10 goals with three of those first five coming from Pac-12 leading scorer Madeline Pisani. The Buffaloes led 4-2 after the first 15 minutes and then poured in seven goals over the second 15, while Kate Rothman had the only other first half tally for the Bears, who trailed 11-3 at the break.

Colorado thwarted any hopes of a second-half Cal comeback by outscoring the Bears, 4-1, in the third period to take a 15-4 advantage into the final frame.

Neither team would score for nearly the first 10 minutes of the fourth before Mya Wang took a pass from Josie Lillquist and found the back of the net with 5:02 remaining. Kennedy Mason (2:38) and Fischer (1:12) added unassisted goals in the game's final minutes.

Pisani and Sydney Zimmerman each had a hat trick to lead eight Colorado scorers. Five Buffaloes had five players score multiple goals including Ashley Stokes, who had a pair of goals and a game-high three assists for a game-high five points.

Fischer and Wang had two goals each for the Bears and were the only Cal players with multiple goals or assists.

Cal will next play at No. 17 USC (8-3, 2-0 Pac-12) at United Airlines Field at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on Sunday March 31. First draw is scheduled for Noon PDT. The contest will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks.
