Butler Earns NFCA All-American Honor
Sophomore Second Baseman Named To Second Team
California second baseman
Elon Butler picked up another postseason honor on Wednesday, earning NFCA Second Team All-American recognition.
Butler was named to the NFCA All-Pacific Region First Team and the All-Pac-12 Second Team earlier this month and secures her first All-American honor.
This is the third straight year a Golden Bear has received NFCA All-American status after
Makena Smith earned Third Team honors in 2022 and 2023.

Butler put her name into the Cal record books this season, finishing tied for the Pac-12 regular season home run crown with teammate
Lagi Quiroga (16). Her grand slam in the Bears' NCAA Tournament win over Jackson State was her 17th long ball of the season, tying for fourth on the Cal single-season list with Lindsey Ziegenhirt (2013).
The San Jose native finished fourth in the conference in slugging percentage (.760), sixth in RBI (44), tied for seventh with 12 doubles and was 14th with a .351 batting average.
Butler was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week on Feb. 20 after a standout performance during the Golden Bears' undefeated weekend at the Littlewood Classic. Butler hit .600 (9-for-15) in Cal's five victories, collecting two home runs and two doubles to go with seven RBI. Her two-run homer tied the game against then-No. 17/21 Virginia Tech as the Bears went on to a 6-5, eight-inning victory over the Hokies.
Butler becomes Cal's 43rd NFCA All-American and 46th overall in program history.
