Tyler Stasiowski Signs With Minnesota

Stasiowski Becomes Fifth Golden Bear From 2024 Squad To Become Affiliated With MLB Organization

The Minnesota Twins announced on Tuesday that they have signed California senior right-handed pitcher Tyler Stasiowski to a professional baseball contract. Stasiowski is the fifth player from the Golden Bears' 2024 squad to become affiliated with a Major League Baseball organization.

"Tyler was on the mound for us in a lot of big situations over the last two seasons," Cal head coach Mike Neu said. "Last year, we won 11 of the final 12 games he pitched in with eight of those contests determined by three runs or less. Those kinds of numbers tell you the type of clutch pitching he gave us."

"I'm excited to continue my baseball career, as well as to grow as a player and a person," Stasiowski said. "It has been a lifelong dream to play professional baseball and to one day play Major League Baseball."

Four players from Cal's 2024 team – catcher Caleb Lomavita (Washington Nationals, 1st round, 39th overall), outfielder Rodney Green Jr. (Oakland Athletics, 4th round, 104th overall), right-handed pitcher Christian Becerra (Minnesota Twins, 12th round, 368th overall) and right-handed pitcher Andres Galan (Tampa Bay Rays, 17th round, 516th overall) – were selected in the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft earlier this month.

Stasiowski is the first Cal player to sign with the Twins as an undrafted free agent immediately following their collegiate career, while 19 other Golden Bears have been drafted by Minnesota.
