PARIS – Three more Golden Bears captured Olympic medals Sunday on the last day of the swimming competition in Paris, as

Murphy swam the leadoff backstroke leg for Team USA and Armstrong finished strong in the freestyle, helping the Americans finish the race in a time of 3:28.01 – just behind gold medalist China, which clocked in at 3:27.46.
Alexy helped Team USA reach the final by swimming in Saturday's prelims. The Americans qualified third to advance to Sunday's final.
It was the ninth career Olympic medal and third of the Paris Games for Murphy, who won the gold medal in the 4x100 mixed medley relay on Saturday, helping Team USA set a world record in the process. He also won the bronze in the 100-meter backstroke.
Armstrong and Alexy each picked up his second medal in Paris. They both were part of Team USA's gold-medal winning 4x100 freestyle relay as well. Armstrong now has three career Olympic medals after also winning the gold in the 4x100 men's medley relay three years ago in Tokyo.
