The Cal­ifornia football team returns home Saturday with a 7:30 p.m. PT kickoff against San Diego State at California Memorial Stadium. The Golden Bears and Aztecs will meet for the ninth time in history.

ABOUT THE SERIES
– Cal and San Diego State have split their eight all-time meetings with both teams a perfect 4-0 at home.
– The teams last met in 2016 with the Aztecs a 45-40 winner in a wild game at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, while the Golden Bears won 35-7 the last time the teams played in Berkeley.
– Cal's other wins came in 1982, 1993 and 1996, while San Diego State won in 1983, 1994 and 1995.

– Cal leads the nation with seven interceptions (no other team has more than five), while tying for the national lead in takeaways (8) and turnover margin (+3.50).
– DB Nohl Williams is one of only two players in the nation with three interceptions and is tied for first in the country with five passes defended.
– Cal is one of six teams and Williams one of six individuals nationally to return a kickoff for a touchdown through Week 2 games. Williams had an 80-yarder against UC Davis in Week 1.
– Cal ranks seventh nationally with an average of 34.00 yards per kickoff return.
– Cal ranks 11th nationally in team passing efficiency defense (79.63).
– WR Nyziah Hunter is tied for fourth nationally with his three TD catches, while ILB Teddye Buchanan is tied for ninth with his one forced fumble and tied for 21st with his 1.0 sacks per game. DB Craig Woodson is one of 129 players on top of the national list with a single fumble recovery.
