The fourth week of the 2025 NFL season saw a trio of former Cal football players help their squads to victories to improve to 3-1 to begin the seasons in Jared Goff (Detroit), Patrick Mekari (Jacksonville) and Aaron Rodgers (Pittsburgh).
Keenan Allen (Los Angeles Chargers), Camryn Bynum (Indianapolis), Daniel Scott (Indianapolis) and Jake Tonges (San Francisco) are also on teams that have started 3-1 but lost their Week 4 games.
Here's what to look for in Week 5 …
- There will be six Pro Bears playing in prime time on Thursday (Jake Tonges - San Francisco 49ers at Rams, Prime Video), Sunday (Jaylinn Hawkins and Craig Woodson - New England at Buffalo, NBC/Universo) and Monday Night Football (Nikko Remigio and Nohl Williams, Kansas City at Patrick Mekari, Jacksonville, ESPN/ABC/ESPN2/ESPN Deportes)
- Allen has 998 career receptions and with only two more in a game at Washington would become the 16th player in NFL history with 1,000 or more career catches
- There will be fewer Pro Bears in action in Week 5 than usual with teams featuring Chris Brooks (Green Bay), Elijah Hicks (Chicago) and Aaron Rodgers (Pittsburgh) as well as coaches Matt Giordano (Chicago) and Byron Storer (Green Bay) receiving byes on the NFL's first bye week of the campaign
A total of 26 former Golden Bears are currently affiliated with NFL teams. Cal has 19 former players on active rosters and three on practice squads, as well as four members of coaching staffs. Keenan Allen – WR, Los Angeles Chargers (3-1, No. 2 AFC, 1st AFC West): Allen had five receptions for 37 yards in a 21-18 Week 4 loss at the New York Giants that was the Chargers' first loss of the 2025 campaign. Allen now has 24 receptions for 231 yards and three scoring grabs in 2025 with his TD catches tied for eighth and his receptions ninth.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 1:25 pm – vs. Washington (2-2) – FOX
Bryan Anger – P, Dallas (1-2-1, No. 13 NFC, 3rd NFC East): Anger punted four times for 102 yards (47.5 avg, season-high-tying 43.5 net) with his first two punts going 51 yards and the first one also trapping the opponent inside the 20 yard-line in a 40-40 Week 4 home tie with Green Bay. Anger has punted 12 times for 570 yards (47.5 avg, 40.4 net), including four punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line and four fair catches.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 10 am – at New York Jets (0-4) – FOX
Chris Brooks – RB, Green Bay (2-1-1, No. 7 NFC, 2nd NFC North): Brooks played 14 plays (5 offense, 9 special teams) off the bench and contributed one reception for one yard in a 40-40 Week 4 tie at Dallas. He has contributed five receptions for 30 yards, one rush for one yard and four tackles over the first four contests in 2025.

Teddye Buchanan – LB, Baltimore (1-3, No. 12 AFC, T3rd AFC North): Buchanan made seven tackles in a 37-20 Week 4 loss at Kansas City after posting a career-high eight tackles in a 38-30 Week 3 home loss to Detroit on Monday Night Football. Buchanan has played in all four games with starts in each of the last three and ranks third on the team with 25 tackles through his first four NFL games as a 2025 rookie.                                                                                                                               Â
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 10 am – vs. Houston (1-3) – CBS
Camryn Bynum – S, Indianapolis (3-1, No. 3 AFC, T1st AFC South): Bynum had seven tackles in a 27-20 Week 4 road loss at the Los Angeles Rams that was the Colts' first defeat this season. In his first four games of 2025, Bynum has 18 tackles as well as two interceptions and three pass defenses. He is tied for third in the NFL with his two interceptions, while his three pass defenses are a team best.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 10 am – vs. Las Vegas (1-3) – FOX
Ashtyn Davis – S, Miami (1-3, No. 13 AFC, 3rd AFC East): Davis started for the second straight game and contributed four tackles in a 27-21 Week 4 home win over the New York Jets that was the Dolphins' first victory of the 2025 season. Over the first four games of 2025, Davis has nine tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass defense.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 10 am – at Carolina (1-3) – FOX
Jared Goff – QB, Detroit (3-1, No. 3 NFC, 1st NFC North): Goff completed 16-of-27 passes for 168 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for an 86.7 rating in a 34-10 Week 4 home win against Cleveland. He was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after a 52-21 Week 2 home win over Chicago when he was 23-of-28 for 334 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions for a 156.0 rating, with his five touchdown passes equaling a career high and the rating his third-best ever in a game. Through the first four games of the 2025 season, Goff has completed a career-high 73.2 percent of his passes (90-of-122) and also has a career-high 113.0 rating that are both second in the league, while his nine touchdown passes are tied for second and his 929 yards passing are 10th.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 1:25 pm – at Cincinnati (2-2) – FOX
Cameron Goode – LB, Miami (1-3, No. 13 AFC, 3rd AFC East): Goode had one tackle and one downed punt at the New York Jets' one-yard line with 0:02 remaining in the game to help preserve the victory in a 27-21 Week 4 home win over the Jets. He was credited with his tackle on a kickoff return to start the second half resulting in a fumble by the Jets that the Dolphins' offense turned into a touchdown to extend Miami's lead to 17-3.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 10 am – at Carolina (1-3) – FOX
Marcus Harris – CB, Tennessee (0-4, No. 16 AFC, 4th AFC South): Harris played in a game-high-tying 20 plays on special teams and contributed his first two NFL tackles in a 26-0 Week 4 road loss at Houston. Harris has played in all four games in 2025 primarily on special teams, in which he has played in 74 of his 76 plays. In addition to the two tackles, he has one blocked extra-point recovery.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 10 am – at Arizona (2-2) – CBS
Jaylinn Hawkins – S, New England (2-2, No. 9 AFC, Place, 2nd AFC East): Hawkins had four tackles in a 42-13 Week 4 home win over Carolina to increase his total on the season to 20, along with one interception that he returned one yard, 1.0 sack (-5 yards), two tackles for loss, one quarterback hit and one pass defense. Hawkins has started each of the Patriots' first four games at safety in 2025 alongside fellow Pro Bear
Craig Woodson.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 5:20 pm – at Buffalo (4-0) – NBC, UNIVERSO
Elijah Hicks – S, Chicago (2-2, No. 11 NFC, T3rd NFC North): Hicks participated in 19 plays (18 special teams, 1 defense) and contributed one tackle in a 25-24 Week 4 road win at Las Vegas. Hicks has played in all four games in 2025 and contributed three tackles.

Cameron Jordan – DE, New Orleans (0-4, No. 16 NFC, 4th NFC South): Jordan moved past Drew Brees to become New Orleans' all-time leader for games started when he started his 229th career game for the Saints in a 31-19 loss at Buffalo. Jordan recorded four tackles, 1.0 sack (-7 yards), one tackle for loss and two quarterback hits in the contest. The prior week Jordan had moved past Brees as the Saints' all-time leader for games played (229) in a 44-13 Week 3 loss at Seattle. In the first four games of the 2025 season, his 15th in the NFL all with New Orleans, Jordan has compiled 12 tackles, 2.5 sacks (21.5 yards), four tackles for loss, four quarterback hits and one pass defense.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 10 am – vs. New York Giants (1-3) – CBS
Patrick Mekari – OL, Jacksonville (3-1, No. 5 AFC, T1st AFC South): Mekari started at right guard for the fourth consecutive game and played in 50 of an eventual 68 offensive plays before leaving the game due to a knee injury in a 26-21 Week 4 road win at San Francisco..
Week 5 – Mon., Oct. 6, 5:15 pm – vs. Kansas City (2-2) – ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, ESPN DEPORTES
Nikko Remigio – WR/RET, Kansas City (2-2, No. 7 AFC, T2nd AFC West): Remigio posted 62 all-purpose yards while being on the field for just eight plays (4 offense, 4 special teams) with a 47-yard kick return and a 15-yard punt return in his lone returns in a 37-20 Week 4 home win over Baltimore. On the season, Remigio has a team-high 287 all-purpose yards on seven kick returns for 187 yards, six punt returns for 68 yards, one reception for 21 yards and one rush for 11 yards.
Week 5 – Mon., Oct. 6, 5:15 pm – at Jacksonville (3-1) – ESPN, ABC, ESPN2, ESPN DEPORTES
Aaron Rodgers – QB, Pittsburgh (3-1, No. 4 AFC, AFC North 1st Place): Rodgers led Pittsburgh to a win for the third time in his first four games with his new team in a 24-21 Week 3 victory over Minnesota in a game played at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland. Rodgers completed 18-of-22 passes for 200 yards with one touchdown on an 80-yard scoring strike to DK Metcalf and no interceptions for a 119.7 rating, while he also ran three times for eight yards, including a season-long 10-yarder. In his Steelers' debut in Week 1, Rodgers led the Pittsburgh to a 34-32 comeback road win in the house of one of his former teams, the New York Jets, completing 22-of 30 passes for 244 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions for a 136.7 rating that was his best in a game since the 2022 campaign. In the first four games of the 2025 season, he has completed 74-of-108 passes for 786 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions for a 102.6 rating that is his highest since posting a 111.9 mark the season he earned his fourth Associated Press MVP honor in 2021 while still with Green Bay.

Daniel Scott – S, Indianapolis (3-1, No. 3 AFC, T1st AFC South): Scott played in his fourth consecutive game off the bench in a 27-20 Week 4 road loss at the Los Angeles Rams but had no stats other than participation. The 26-year-old Scott missed all of his first two NFL seasons with injuries before making his NFL debut in 2025.
Week 5 – Sun., Oct. 5, 10 am – vs. Las Vegas (1-3) – FOX
Jake Tonges, TE, San Francisco (3-1, No. 2 NFC, T1st NFC West): Tonges had three receptions for a career-high 58 yards receiving including 21 on a fourth-quarter touchdown catch and a career-long 23 yard grab in a 26-21 Week 4 home loss to Jacksonville. Tonges' 2025 season has been full of accomplishments that also include his first career start in a 16-15 Week 3 win over Arizona. Tonges had a career-high four receptions for 31 yards receiving in a 26-21 Week 2 road win at New Orleans and was the 49ers' hero in a 17-13 Week 1 victory at Seattle by making a game-winning acrobatic four-yard touchdown catch in the end zone on the 49ers' final drive. Tonges has all 12 of his career receptions, 126 yards receiving and two touchdown in 2025.
Week 5 – Thu., Oct. 2, 5:15 pm – vs. Los Angeles Rams (3-1) – Prime Video
Nohl Williams – CB, Kansas City (2-2, No. 7 AFC, T2nd AFC West): Williams had three tackles and one pass defense in a 37-20 Week 4 home win against Baltimore. In the first four games of his 2025 NFL rookie season all off the bench, Williams has eight tackles, three pass defenses and a downed punt inside the 5-yard line.

Craig Woodson – S, New England (2-2, Place): Woodson had five tackles, a career-high two tackles for loss and his first career pass defense in a 42-13 Week 4 home win over Carolina. Woodson has started each of his first four games as a 2025 NFL rookie, totaling 23 tackles that rank tied second on the team, four tackles for loss that are tied for second and one pass defense.
