Bears Look For Eighth Straight Win In The Series

The California women's basketball team will continue its homestand hosting Pacific on Tuesday at 7 p.m. PT at Haas Pavilion.
 
This is the 30th all-time meeting between the two programs with Cal holding a 27-2 series lead and having won the last seven matchups. The two teams faced off last season in a 74-66 Bears' win at Pacific on Dec. 7, 2024.
 
Pacific is coming off a 15-19 season in 2024-25 in which it qualified for the WNIT. The Tigers are led by 11th-year head coach Bradley Davis, who became the winningest head coach in program history (141 wins) after defeating UC San Diego in the season opener. Pacific's top returners include Daria Nestorov who shot 40.9% from 3-point range last year and Sydney Ward who led the team in blocks (41).
 
Tuesday's game will be streamed on ACCNX with Dave Benz and Ashlee Jones on the call.

In the 69-52 win over Sac State on Sunday:
  • Mjracle Sheppard had her best all-around game as a Bear with a game and career-high 16 points to go along with seven rebounds and six assists.
  • Taylor Barnes had her second straight game scoring in double figures with 12 points while adding three steals.
  • Lola Donez had a career-high nine points which included 2-of-3 from deep while also swiping three steals.
  • Every Bear that saw action got into the scoring column.

  • Barnes is the only freshman in the country to have at least 17 points, five rebounds and five assists in a single game so far this season.
  • Barnes' 17 points scored versus Vanderbilt lead all freshmen in the ACC for a single game through the opening week of play. Her 29 total points rank fifth, eight assists rank fourth and nine rebounds rank eighth among all freshmen in the conference.
  • After just two seasons at Cal, Twidale is already ranked sixth on the program's all-time career list for 3-pointers (136) and is just two away from taking the fifth spot to overtake former Bear Lauren Grief.
  • Cal welcomes its second-consecutive Top 25 (ESPN) recruiting class that features two ESPN HoopGurlz Top 100 players in McDonald's All-American Aliyahna "Puff" Morris (No. 24) and Taylor Barnes (No. 70) along with Grace McCallop and Isis Johnson-Musah.
  • Morris is Cal's first McDonald's All-American since Kristine Anigwe (2015).
