Singleton Welcomes First-Ever Signing Class

The California softball team signed five incoming freshmen in the class of 2026, announced Wednesday by head coach Steve Singleton, who officially welcomes his first signing class as the leader of the program.

"We are thrilled to announce the signing of five talented student-athletes in the 2026 class," Singleton said. "Each brings special skills and abilities to our program. We have added talent in the circle, on the bases, defensively and at the plate. This is a very well-rounded class and one that will be a major building block for the future of our program. Go Bears."

Malea Ricks, a 5-foot-4 outfielder from Madera, joins the Golden Bears from Madera High School. She comes from a softball household as both of her older sisters, Kailea (infielder at Ohio State) and Lealani (infielder at Howard), play collegiately. Ricks brings a slew of accomplishments, including being a three-time first-team all-conference honoree, earning a 2023 rookie of the year award, and garnering offensive player of the year and most valuable player recognition during her high school career. Ricks is a four-star recruit and ranked 85th nationally, according to Softball America.

Charlotte White, a 5-foot-8 outfielder from Long Beach, joins Cal from Woodrow Wilson High School. White has been a standout player for her high school team, as she is a two-time First-Team All-Moore League member and was named the most valuable player in 2025 after leading the team in hits, batting average (.486) and on-base percentage (.616).

Emoni Lam Sam, a 5-foot-5 infielder from Long Beach, joins the program from Long Beach Polytechnic. Lam Sam's stellar high school career has earned her three-time First-Team All-Moore League recognition along with 2024-25 Offensive Player of the Year and All-CIF Player of the Year (Div. 4) honors. She is a four-star recruit and ranked 74th nationally, according to Softball America.

Alanna Clincy, a 5-foot-6 right-handed pitcher from San Jose, joins the Bears from Willow Glen High School. In her high school career so far, Clincy has helped her team to one CIF D2 NorCal Championship and three BVAL titles.
