Bears Host Cal Poly At 2 p.m. PT

The California women's basketball team (8-5) will play in its final nonconference game of the 2025-26 season when it hosts Cal Poly (2-9) at Haas Pavilion on Sunday at 2 p.m. PT.
 
This will be the ninth meeting between the two programs with Cal winning all eight of the previous matchups. The teams last played on Nov. 13, 2023 in a 74-60 Bears' win at Haas Pavilion.
 
A win would be Cal's 19th straight regular season nonconference win dating back to the 2023-24 season.
 
Cal Poly is 2-9 on the season and has played a schedule that included three Power 4 teams in Stanford, UCLA and USC. The Mustangs are led by fourth-year head coach Shanele Stiles and feature Vanessa McManus who leads the team in scoring at 20.1 points per game.
 
Sunday's game will be streamed on ACCNX with Dave Benz and Ben Braun on the call.

  • Cal had a lead for a majority of the second half going up by as many as nine points in the third quarter before going 1-for-10 from the field in the fourth quarter.

  • Maul is having a career year in rebounding while coming off the bench. She ranks second on the team at 5.8 rebounds per game and is averaging 8.0 rebounds per game over her last five.
  • Cal is only giving up 60.0 points per game, the fewest under Charmin Smith and fourth fewest in program history dating back to the 1981-82 season. The last time Cal's scoring defense averaged 60.0 points or fewer was the 2012-13 season.
