Cal Back Home To Battle With Boston College

Bears Look To Reach 20-Win Mark

Story Links

After losing back-to-back games for the first time all season, the California women's basketball team (19-6, 7-5 ACC) will look to get back on track when it hosts Boston College (13-13, 4-9) at Haas Pavilion on Thursday at 7 p.m. PT.

This marks just the third meeting between the two programs with the series tied at 1-1. Both teams last met in an 81-69 Boston College victory at the Maggie Dixon Surf 'n Slam Tournament in San Diego on Dec. 28, 2009.

A win against Boston College would give Cal its first 20-win season under head coach Charmin Smith and its first since 2018-19. It would also mark the most conference wins under Smith.

Boston College is led by seventh-year head coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee who has led her team to a pair of 20-win seasons during her tenure. The Eagles are led by three players who average double-figure scoring highlighted by T'yana Todd, who averages 14.0 points per game.

Thursday's game will be streamed on ACCNX with Dave Benz and Theo Robertson on the call.
