GREENSBORO, N.C - The No. 3 California men's swimming & diving team opened the 2025 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships with a pair of relay wins on Tuesday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
 
The meet began with three-meter dive prelims, where Joshua Thai earned a spot in the finals after scoring a 351.10. Jack Clark posted a 330.35 to place 11th, missing out on the finals cut.
 
In the first event of the evening, the Golden Bears set a meet record in the 200-yard medley relay after the lineup of Bjorn Seeliger, Yamato Okadome, Dare Rose and Jack Alexy clocked a time of 1:21.54, which is the second-fastest time in program history.
 
The Bears followed that performance with another meet record in the 800-yard freestyle relay with the quartet Alexy, Gabriel Jett, Destin Lasco and Lucas Henveaux with a time of 6:06.66, the third-fastest time in program history.
 
In the final event of the evening, Thai earned himself a fifth-place finish in the three-meter dive with a score of 389.60.
 
After the opening day, Cal sits atop the standing with 172 points, followed by Stanford (153) and North Carolina (139).
 
The meet continues on Wednesday with the prelim session of the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, 50-yard freestyle and the one-meter dive at 6:30 a.m. PT.
