Cal Wraps Final ACC Road Trip At Virginia Tech
Bears Seek Third ACC Weekend Sweep
The California women's basketball team (22-6, 10-5 ACC) will play in its final regular-season ACC road game when it faces Virginia Tech (16-10, 7-8 ACC) at Cassell Coliseum in Blacksburg, Virginia on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT. Having already beaten Virginia on Thursday, a win would give the Golden Bears their third weekend sweep of the ACC season and fourth win in a row. A win would also give Cal its most wins since the 2014-15 season (24 wins) and its 10th win against a team from the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
This marks the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Virginia Tech is led by first-year head coach Megan Duffy whose resume includes six 20-win seasons over her previous seven seasons with Marquette and Miami (Ohio). The Hokies are led by four players who average double-figure scoring including Carleigh Wenzel (14.5 points per game) and Rose Micheaux (12.3 ppg) who also leads the team in rebounding (8.3 rebounds per game).
Sunday's game will air on ACC Network with Jenn Hildreth and Kelly Gramlich on the call.

In the win over Virginia on Thursday:
- Ioanna Krimili surpassed 2,500 points for her career making her just the sixth player in the history of DI women's basketball to have at least 2,500 points and 400 3-pointers.
- Krimili knocked down six triples (second time this season) giving her an NCAA-leading 27 career games with at least five 3-pointers.
- Michelle Onyiah posted her career-high eighth double-double of the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
- The Bears hit 13 3-pointers - their most since hitting 16 against Temple on Dec. 22.
- Cal dished out 20 assists - its most since handing out 20 against Stanford on Dec. 13.
- The Bears guaranteed themselves a top-nine finish in the ACC standings.

Player Notes
- Ioanna Krimili's 419 career 3-pointers rank 11th on the NCAA's all-time career list. She needs to hit six more to move into a tie for 10th place all time.
- Krimili is 11 3-pointers from entering the ACC's all-time single-season list.
- Krimili and Twidale are the best 3-point shooting duo in the nation. Krimili is ranked seventh (82) while Twidale is ranked 12th (78) (through Feb. 20). No other school has a duo who have combined for more made 3-pointers or rank in the top 25.
- Twidale leads all sophomores in the nation in made 3-pointers (through Feb. 20).
- Suarez is 1 of 6 players in the conference to rank in the top 25 in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage (47.6) during ACC play. Her 16 3-pointers in conference play rank third among the nine players.
- Suarez is one of only 12 forwards in the country and only one of two in the ACC shooting at least 46% from the field and 32% from deep (min. 90 3PTA).
- Williams is just one of four players in the nation shooting at least 49.0% from the field and 39.0% from deep and totaling at least 115 assists on the season.
- Onyiah is setting career single-season highs across several categories this year: FG% (59.6), rebounding (7.3) and scoring (11.3). During ACC play she is shooting 60.2% from the field.
- Of Onyiah's eight double-doubles for the season, six have occurred during ACC play putting her in a tie for third in the conference.
Team Notes
- At 22-6, Cal is off to its best overall start under Smith and since the 2012-13 season (26-2). Cal's six road wins are the most under Smith.
- Cal is one of 25 teams in the country with at least seven Quad 1 or 2 wins.
- Cal is currently 9-5 against teams from the 2024 NCAA Tournament with wins over No. 19 Alabama, No. 21 NC State, Florida State, Gonzaga, Auburn, Arizona, Syracuse and Stanford (twice).
- Entering this week, Cal is one of only four schools in the country to have five players averaging over 10 points per game.
