Krimili, Williams Named To College All-Star Game Watch List
Game Takes Place April 5 In Tampa During Final Four Weekend
California women's basketball guards
Ioanna Krimili and
Kayla Williams were named to the Women's College All-Star Game Midseason Watch List on Tuesday. They were selected by a distinguished panel of national media experts to potentially compete in the national showcase event April 5 in Tampa.
The 2025 Women's College All-Star Game will feature the top senior standouts who are on the precipice of hearing their names called in the WNBA Draft. Of the more than 60 players that appear on the watch list, 20 will ultimately be selected to participate in the event, which will be televised by ESPN2 at noon PT on April 5 during Final Four weekend. The final event roster will be announced the week of the event.
Krimili's inclusion to the watchlist comes on the heels of her being named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale National Player of the Year Watch List on Monday. After entering the 2024-25 season as the nation's leader for career 3-pointers among active players, last weekend she became just the 17th player in the history of women's college basketball to reach 400 career 3-pointers and set the program record for single-season 3-pointers made (69). Krimili's 69 triples this season currently rank sixth in the NCAA.
Williams, a graduate transfer from USC, has been shooting the ball extremely well all season with averages of 50.3% from the field and 41.8% from deep. She leads the team in assists (98) and steals (35). Williams is one of only two players in the country to shoot at least 50% from the field and 40% from 3-point range while dishing out at least 90 assists. Her shooting averages are both career highs and her assist total so far is the second highest of her career.
Last April, 20 of college basketball's top senior standouts converged in Cleveland to rekindle the postseason event that Intersport helped originally launch in 1998. There, five All-Americans, more than a dozen all-conference standouts and four future WNBA draft picks competed in front of nearly 5,000 fans on the eve of the sport's national championship game.
