For the 26th year in a row, the California men's gymnastics team has qualified for the NCAA Championships, held this year in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on April 18-19. The Golden Bears moved up one spot in the national rankings to No. 9 after a season-best score of 315.450 over the weekend at the MPSF Championships, well within the 12-team cutoff for the season finale.

The qualifying teams will be split into two six-team sessions to be contested on Day One at 10 a.m. PT and 4 p.m., respectively, after which the top three teams from each session will advance to the finals the next day. Individuals who place within the top three of those who have not already qualified with their teams will also earn a berth in the finals. Cal is slated to compete in Session I of the qualifier, along with top-ranked Oklahoma, Nebraska, Penn State, Air Force and William & Mary. Both Friday sessions will be aired on ESPN+, while Saturday's final will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 6:30 p.m.

At last week's conference championships, Jasper Smith-Gordon became the Bears' first MPSF champion since 2018, as well as Cal's first-ever MPSF vault champion and its first conference vault champion since 1987. Theodor Roald Gadderud also cracked the podium in the all-around (second) and on parallel bars (third), while Regular-Season All-American Aidan Li took home bronze on pommel horse. All three were subsequently named All-MPSF in those events, as were Matteo Bardana (floor) and Carter Kim (high bar).

Last year, Cal advanced 10 individuals to the NCAA finals after posting its best team score of the season in the qualifier as well as its best overall finish (seventh) since 2015. Li was named the Bears' first All-American since 2021, tying for seventh place overall on pommel horse.
