Cal Begins Path To College World Series Against Omaha
The California softball team (35-19) will begin its quest for the 2025 Women's College World Series at the Norman Region against Summit League tournament champion Omaha (39-11) on Friday at Love's Field in Norman, Oklahoma.
The Golden Bears will make their third straight NCAA postseason appearance and 36th in program history. Cal will look to advance to the Super Regionals for the first time in 13 years when the team made it to the College World Series in 2012.
The Bears will meet the Mavericks on Friday at 12:30 p.m. PT, streaming live on ESPN+ with Clay Matvick and Natasha Watley on the call.

- The Bears rank 16th in the NCAA in doubles (91), 23rd in hit by pitches (47), 24th in double plays (25), 33rd in on-base percentage (.410) and scoring (6.24), 36th in slugging percentage (.519), 37th in batting average, 40th in total runs (337), 44th in home runs (60) and 46th in RBIs (300).
- Cal has three All-ACC honorees: Lagi Quiroga (First Team), Tianna Bell (Second Team) and Mia Phillips (All-Freshman Team).
- Cal will meet Omaha for the first time in program history and holds a 3-0 series advantage against Boston University. The last meeting with the Terriers came on March 4, 2022, at the San Diego Classic when the Bears won, 4-1. Cal has seen Oklahoma 18 times in program history and the Sooners hold an 11-7 advantage in the all-time series after ending the Bears' season in a 16-3 win at the 2023 NCAA Norman Regional.
- The Bears have recorded at least 35 wins in three consecutive seasons.
- Cal landed at No. 28 in the latest RPI ranking while holding the 23rd toughest schedule in the NCAA.
- Acacia Anders is now the all-time leader in program history with 53 career doubles.
- Cal was a part of history this month against Bay Area rival Stanford when 13,207 fans attended The Big Swing at Stanford Stadium, setting the NCAA attendance record.
- Cal won 16 straight games between Feb. 21-March 15, marking its longest win streak since 2013.
- After 30 years at Levine-Fricke Field, Cal will break ground on a renovated softball facility with an estimated completion timeline of 16-18 months.
