Trio Of Bears To Compete At European, Canadian Championships

Theodor Roald Gadderud Will Represent Norway Next Week In Leipzig, Germany

Two current members and one alumnus of the California men's gymnastics team are set to appear in major championships next week, with rising senior Theodor Roald Gadderud representing Norway at the European Championships in Leipzig, Germany, and both rising sophomore Matteo Bardana and recent graduate Aidan Li heading to Calgary, Alberta, for the Canadian Championships.

European Championships – May 26-31 (Leipzig, Germany – Messe Leipzig)
Roald Gadderud, who was the youngest man to ever be recruited by the Norwegian National Team at just 11 years old, is attending his third European Championships and his first in four years. He was one of the Bears' top gymnasts this season, competing in the all-around at the NCAA Championships and posting the team's top scores on parallel bars and horizontal bar.

The men's competition begins May 27 in the Qualification Round, which will also act as the team competition. Norway will start on parallel bars in Subdivision 3 at 8:30 a.m. PT. The top 24 all-arounders from the competition will advance to the All-Around Final on May 29 (maximum two gymnasts per federation).

Qualification rounds will be streamed on Gymtv.online, while the finals are available on Eurovision Sport.  Live scoring can be found on SmartScoring. The full schedule can be found here.

Canadian Championships – May 26-30 (Calgary, Alberta – Olympic Oval)
Li, the 2025 NCAA pommel horse runner-up, will look to defend his Canadian title in his third senior Canadian competition, while Bardana hopes to add to his medal collection after earning four age-group titles (all-around, floor, rings, high bar) and an additional podium finish (parallel bars) at Elite Canada in February.

The first day of the men's senior competition begins at 4:53 p.m. PT on May 28, with Bardana starting his all-around campaign on pommel horse in Rotation 1 and Li appearing in Rotation 2. Two days later, they will close out competition at 4:08 p.m. PT with the All-Around and Apparatus Finals.

Fans can watch the Canadian Championships on the HomeTeam Network, while live scoring will be available on the LiveMeet Pro app. The full schedule can be found here.
