French, Moutzouridis Named To All-ACC Championship Team

Cal Duo Helped Bears Win A Pair Of ACC Championship Games In Durham

DURHAM – California outfielder Jacob French and shortstop PJ Moutzouridis were named to the 2025 All-ACC Championship team selected by media covering the event and announced Sunday.

French and Moutzouridis helped Cal to wins in its first two games at the ACC Championship over No. 9 seed Miami and No. 8 Wake Forest on Tuesday and Wednesday before the 16th-seeded Golden Bears' run finally ended with a loss to 2025 regular-season ACC champion and No. 1 Georgia Tech in a Thursday quarterfinal. No. 3 North Carolina defeated No. 5 Clemson on Sunday in the championship game.
 
Jacob French, OF, 6-1, 205, So., 1st Season At Cal (Benicia, Calif./San Francisco State/Benicia HS)
- Hit .692 (9-13, 3 R, 2B, 4 RBI, BB, 2 HBP) in three games at the ACC Championship and posted a career-high-tying four hits in each of his last two contests May 21 against Wake Forest (4-6, 3 R, 2B, 3 RBI) and May 22 vs. Georgia Tech (4-5)
- Finished the 2025 season on a torrid Cal career-high and collegiate career-high-tying 13-game hit streak (.509, 27-53, 10 R, 3 2B, 3B, HR, 10 RBI, BB, 6 HBP, SF) that included six games of three more hits
- Led the team in batting average (.380), triples (5), hit by pitches (12) and on-base percentage (.440), second in hits (76) and total bases (110), tied for second in doubles (12), third in RBI (36), and among regulars first in OPS (1.004) and second in slugging percentage (.564)
- Added to his earlier 2025 honors from the conference including a spot on the All-ACC third-team and being the first Cal player to earn ACC Player of the Week recognition for his performances in games played March 17-23

PJ Moutzouridis, SS, 6-1, 185, So., 2nd Season At Cal (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS)
- Hit .462 (6-13, 3 R, 2 2B, 5 RBI, 2 BB, 3 SB) in three games at the ACC Championship and posted a season-high-tying three hits in each of his first two contests May 20 against Miami (3-6, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI, SB) and May 21 vs. Wake Forest (3-4, R, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 SB) before adding one run batted in May 22 vs. Georgia Tech
- Posted a late-season six-game hit streak May 11-21 (.556, 10-18, 6 R, 3 2B, 4 RBI, 3 BB, 3 SB, SAC) with multiple hits in each of the last four contests and three hits in each of the last two at the ACC Championship, raising his season average 23 points over his final seven games to .270
- Second on the team in stolen bases (10) and at bats (215), as well as fourth in hits (58)
