Bears’ ACC/SEC Challenge Matchup Announced
Cal Plays At Missouri On Dec. 4
The California women's basketball team will compete in its second ACC/SEC Challenge game next season as matchups across both conferences were announced by ESPN on Thursday. The Golden Bears will travel to Missouri on Dec. 4 as part of the annual cross-conference matchups, which began in 2023-24. Gametimes and broadcast designations will be announced at a later date.
This will mark just the third all-time meeting between the Bears and the Tigers with the series tied at 1-1. Missouri edged Cal, 55-52, in the most recent matchup between the schools that took place on Nov. 25, 2017, as part of the Cal Classic. The Bears won the first matchup, 82-70, on Nov. 23, 2014, at the Hawaii Tournament.
Cal won its first-ever SEC/ACC Challenge matchup last season, defeating then-No. 19 Alabama, 69-65, on Dec. 5 at Haas Pavilion. The Bears are coming off their first NCAA Tournament berth and 25-win season since 2012-13, return one of the country's top 3-point shooters in
Lulu Twidale and welcome the 20th-ranked (ESPN HoopGurlz) freshmen class that includes McDonald's All-American Aliyahna "Puff" Morris (No. 22) and Taylor Barnes (No. 73).
Additional nonconference games will be announced at a later date.
