17 Bears Earn ACWPC All-Academic Recognition

Voorvelt, Swadling, Rose Garner Honor For Fourth Time

Seventeen California women's water polo student-athletes have earned ACWPC All-Academic awards, the organization announced Wednesday.

Departing seniors Rozanne Voorvelt, Ruby Swadling and Jessie Rose each secured the honor for the fourth time, including outstanding recognition for Voorvelt and Swadling every year.

Outstanding recognition is awarded to student-athletes who have a cumulative GPA of 3.71 or higher while superior status goes to those who fall between 3.41 and 3.7. Excellent recognition is for student-athletes with a cumulative GPA from 3.2 to 3.4.

Recently graduated Elena Flynn and Claire Rowell as well as rising senior Abbi Magee earned ACWPC All-Academic recognition for the third time, while Feline Voordouw, Kate Meyer, Nieve Courtney, Talia Fonseca, Julia Bonaguidi and Lindsey Harris are now two-time honorees.

Eszter Varro, Mackenzie Walker, Miriam Bogachenko, Julianne Snyder and Abby Roder each earned the academic accolade for the first time.

The honor caps off a decorated academic career for Voorvelt, who last week became just the second College Sports Communicators Academic All-American in program history. She also is a three-time MPSF All-Academic selection.
