Starting Patriots’ Safeties From Cal Back In The Bay Feb. 8 To Face Seahawks
Former Cal football players and starting New England safeties Jaylinn Hawkins and
Craig Woodson will be back in the Bay Area to face Seattle in Super Bowl LX at Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium on Sunday, Feb. 8 (3:30 pm PT, NBC). Both will be playing in the Super Bowl for the first time.
The Patriots secured a spot in their 12th Super Bowl in franchise history and first in seven seasons by knocking off the AFC's top seed Denver, 10-7, on the road in Sunday's AFC Championship Game. Woodson contributed four tackles and one pass breakup, while Hawkins had three tackles.
The Seahawks held on for a 31-27 home victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Sunday's NFC Championship Game.
The Golden Bears have had 30 players who have graduated from and/or completed their playing careers at Cal who have won a total of 39 Super Bowls. The list includes players on active rosters, injured reserve lists and practice squads.
