CAL'S FIRST-EVER ACC WIN AND MORE FIRSTS
— Cal's 10-9 victory over Florida State in its 2026 ACC and home opener in its most recent contest last Friday was the Golden Bears' first-ever ACC win, as well as its first victory in a conference opener since a 2019 Pac-12 home win over Oregon. Cal was 0-9 in ACC games in its first season in the league in 2005.

Emily Moes converted her second free-position goal in as many free-position attempts with 1:38 remaining in the fourth period for the game-winning goal. Moes finished with a team-high five points on three goals and two assists with the hat trick her third in a row to start the 2026 season. All seven teams that are currently ranked in the 2026 poll played in the 16-team NCAA Championship in 2025, with North Carolina the national champion and Boston College reaching the semifinals.
