Both of those contests were Pac-12 Conference matchups played in Los Angeles with the 2021 contest at Soni McAlister Field and the 2024 meeting the first-ever USC lacrosse game at United Airlines Field at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

LAST TIME OUT (FEBRUARY 6, 2026 - CAL 13, AT SAN DIEGO STATE 12)
— Cal opened its 2026 season with a 13-12 road victory over San Diego State in a nonconference game on Friday in front of a school-record 1,317 fans at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.
— Maddie Willkomm's first career goal with 6:01 remaining was the game-winner and the final score in a contest that neither team ever led by more than two goals. The back-and-forth game featured nine ties and four lead changes.
— Emily Moes led nine different Cal goal scorers by tallying each of the team's first three, while Courtney Wong had two, as well as a career-high four assists for a career-high-tying six points. In addition, Wong posted a career and game-high seven draw controls. No. 14 Duke is the first ranked opponent the Bears are slated to face on Feb. 28 in Durham, North Carolina, followed by a road contest at No. 13 Syracuse (Mar. 3), a home game against No. 1 North Carolina (Mar. 12), a visit to No. 25 Notre Dame (Mar. 28), a home outing against No. 12 Clemson (Apr. 3), and a short road trip to Bay Area rival No. 5 Stanford (Apr. 16) to wrap up the regular season. All seven teams that are ranked in the 2026 preseason poll played in the 16-team NCAA Championship in 2025, with North Carolina the national champion and Boston College reaching the semifinals.
