SOUTH BEND – The California softball team fell to Notre Dame 6-2 on Friday afternoon at Melissa Cook Stadium.
The Fighting Irish took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning, scoring on a fielder's choice.
Cal answered in the top of the third when Carly Raven delivered a two-run single up the middle to give the Bears a 2-1 advantage. Notre Dame responded in the bottom half of the inning with three runs to reclaim the lead, 4-2.
The Fighting Irish added two more runs in the fourth to account for the final score.
Cal is now to 11-24 overall and 1-9 in ACC play. The Bears return to action Sunday with a doubleheader against Notre Dame.
