STANFORD – The California softball team dropped game two to No. 18 Stanford, 9-0, in six innings on Saturday afternoon at Stanford Softball Stadium.

The Cardinal jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, using three doubles to get on the board.

Stanford added three more runs in the second to extend its lead to 5-0.

Kiki Mashhoud kept the Cardinal off the board over the next three innings to keep the Bears within reach.

Stanford broke the game open in the sixth, plating four runs to bring the final score to 9-0.

With the loss, the Bears fall to 13-35 overall. Cal and Stanford return to action Sunday afternoon for the series finale at Stanford Softball Stadium.
