Buddie Holds On For Decathlon Win At Brutus Hamilton
BERKELEY/STANFORD/SAN FRANCISCO – Several members of the California track & field team competed Friday across three separate meets, adding a trio of program top-10 times and a pair of event wins to the Golden Bears' early outdoor season.

Sophie Tau obliterated her former career-best 5000m time by nearly a minute, crossing the finish line in 15:57.16 at the Stanford Invitational for the fourth-fastest time in Cal history and the best performance by a Bear in the event since Bethan Knights in 2015 (14:51.49). Classmate
Addie Johnson also recorded a program top-10 performance in the event, clocking a time of 16:04.57 to rise to No. 6 on the all-time list, while redshirt freshman
Sabine Kim shaved 80 seconds off her outdoor 5000m PR to finish the race in 16:32.16. Senior

At the Mike Fanelli Track Classic at San Francisco State's Cox Stadium, sophomore
Sarah Perkins competed in her first collegiate steeplechase and made her mark in the Cal record book with the 10th-fastest time in program history (10:59.52). The top Cal finisher in the men's 5000m was senior
