Bears’ SEC/ACC Challenge Matchup Announced
Cal Hosts Texas A&M On Dec. 3
The California women's basketball team will compete in its third SEC/ACC Challenge game next season as matchups across both conferences were announced by ESPN on Friday. The Golden Bears will host Texas A&M on Dec. 3 as part of the annual cross-conference matchups, which began in 2023-24. Game times and broadcast designations will be announced at a later date.
This will mark just the sixth all-time meeting between the two programs with the most recent matchup having taken place in the championship game of Cal's Raising The B.A.R. Invitational on Nov. 25, 2023. The contest will also mark the Aggies' third-ever trip to Berkeley.
Cal is 1-1 in the SEC/ACC Challenge with a win over then-No. 19 Alabama 69-65 on Dec. 5, 2024 at Haas Pavilion. The Bears are coming off their second straight 20+ win season and run to the quarterfinals of the WBIT. Cal returns a team that features four out of five starters from last year including
Lulu Twidale, who set program records for both single-season and career 3-pointers and will enter the 2026-27 season ranked second in the country for career 3-pointers.
Additional nonconference games will be announced at a later date.
