2022 (Outdoor): Second Team All-American… competed in seven meets for the Bears… posted a personal-best heave of 20.09m (65-11) at the NCAA West Preliminary Round, second-best in Cal history and eighth-best in the NCAA… won the Pac-12 shot put championship with a throw of 19.95m (65-5.5)… also finished fifth in the discus throw at the Pac-12 Championships with a personal-best mark of 55.97m (183-7)… took third in the shot put at the Mt. SAC Relays with a throw of 19.89m (65-3.25)… won the shot put at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational with a mark of 19.63m (64-5).

2022 (Indoor): USTFCCCA Second Team All-American… competed in four meets for the Bears… at the NCAA Indoor Championships, finished 13^th in the shot put with a best throw of 18.86 (61-10.5)… threw the shot put a personal-best 19.93m (65-4.75) at the Pac-12 Invitational, second-farthest in program history and good for third place… won the men’s shot put at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational with a best throw of 19.58m (64-3).

2021 (Outdoor): Competed in seven meets for the Bears… set a new personal best in the discus throw at the Big Meet, posting a high mark of 55.15m (180-11) that was good for second place and the ninth-best throw in the Pac-12 that season… took second place in the shot put with a throw of 19.23m (63-1.25) at the Cal-USC Dual… had a second-place shot put mark of 19.19m (62-11.5) at the Stanford Invitational… set a personal record of 19.88m (65-2.75) in the shot put at the Trojan Invitational, earning him first place in the event… that mark was second on Cal’s All-Time List and was the 15^th-best heave in Division I that season, also placing fifth on the Pac-12’s 2021 Performance List.

2021 (Indoor): Competed in two meets… took first place in the shot put at the Air Force Collegiate Open, posting a throw of 18.77m (61-7).

2020 (Indoor): U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-American… appeared in three meets for the Bears… improved on his second-best all-time indoor shot put mark at Cal with a heave of 19.60m (64-3.75) at the MPSF Championships… at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational, threw the shot put 19.44m (63-9.5) and also posted a mark of 15.65m (51-4.25) in the weight throw… placed third in both the shot put (19.39m/63-7.5) and the weight throw (16.66m/54-8), the latter of which was a personal best, at the New Mexico Team Open.

2019 (Outdoor): Competed in nine meets for Cal… ended the season ranked 22^nd in the shot put in the NCAA West Region… threw the shot put 18.72m (61-5) at the NCAA West Regionals… at the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships, threw the shot put 18.42m (60-5.25) and the discus 50.72m (166-5)… won the shot put competition at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, posting a heave of 17.81m (58-5.25)… took third place in the discus throw at the Bruce Hamilton Open with his mark of 51.02m (167-5)… at the Big Meet, threw the sixth-best outdoor shot put mark in Cal history with his throw of 19.27m (63-2.75), good for first place… won the shot put competition at the Hornet Invitational, throwing 18.23m (59-9.75)… took first in the shot put (18.44m/60-6) and second in the discus throw (49.81m/163-5) at the Cal Opener.

2019 (Indoor): Appeared in two meets… moved to sixth on Cal’s Indoor All-Time Top-10 list in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 18.22m (50-9.5) at the MPSF Indoor Track & Field Championships.

2018 (Outdoor): Competed in nine meets for the Bears… posted a shot put throw of 17.65m (57-11) at the NCAA West Regionals… at the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships, had throws of 16.89m (55-5) in the shot put and 51.48m (168-11) in the discus throw… set a new personal best in the outdoor shot put at the Cardinal Classic with a heave of 18.06m (59-3)… won the shot put competition at the Stanford Invitational, posting a mark of 17.61m (57-9.5)… set a personal record of 52.67m (172-10) in the discus throw at the Pac-12+ vs Big Ten Invitational… won the shot put contest at the Sacramento State Hornet Invitational, throwing 17.03m (55-10.5)… at the Cal Opener, took first in the shot put (16.89m/55-5) and third in the discus throw (49.37m/162-0).

HIGH SCHOOL: Took fifth place in the discus throw at the 2017 California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) State Track & Field Championships… placed second in the shot put at that year’s CIF South Section (SS) Masters Meet… won both the discus throw and the shot put at the 2017 CIF-SS Division 1 Finals… 2017 Inland Valley League Champion in the discus throw and shot put… competed in both the discus throw and shot put at the 2017 Arcadia Invitational… in 2016, reached the CIF-SS Division 1 Finals in the shot put and in the discus throw… 2016 Inland Valley League Discus and Shot Put Champion… placed second in the shot put at that year’s Arcadia Invitational… 2015 Inland Valley League Champion in the discus throw and the shot put.

PERSONAL: Majoring in integrative biology… plans to attend medical school and become a pathologist… son of Hurfretta and Dwight Johnson.
